Johannes Vennekamp
Vennekamp was born in Constantinople, held his first individual exhibition in Ravensburg in 1959, and lives and works in Berlin and Landsatz an der Elbe. Vennekamp experimented with printing techniques and types of paper, from notepaper to handmade paper. He illustrated several books, such as Der Sperling - 'The Sparrow' by G.B. Fuchs in 1964 and Das Perpetuum Mobile - ' The Perpetuum Mobile' by P Scheerbart in 1997. Much of his work relates also to music, from the series Musical Portraits in 1988, to the portfolio of 10 etchings entitled 'Alla Musica' of 1977 and the 12 record covers and etchings for the 1984 portfolio 'Masters of Jazz'. In 1963 Vennekamp co-founded the Werkstatt Rickdorfer Drucke in Berlin with Fuchs, Bremer and Schindehütte.
