The title comes from the Japanese title of the movie “Charly” (based on the novel “Flowers for Algernon”) and the subtitle of an Evangelion movie.
I emulated a not-so-famous work by Andy Warhol of a bouquet of flowers and replaced them with my flowers. The reason why I paint flowers in the first place, again, is because I attended the Nihonga Department of Tokyo University of the Arts, a department that studies and produces historical Japanese-style paintings, and obtained a doctorate degree from there. In Japan, many of the subjects of paintings are based on nature, such as Kacho Fugetsu (flower, bird, wind and moon) or Setsugekka (snow, moon and flowers); the nature-centered, rather than human-centered, philosophy is prevalent in art.
