Provenance
This is an unusual moment caught by a passer-by who notices a Nun apparently striping off her habit from her forehead and clearly relinquishing her vows from being a nun to the Catholic church for the love of this man she feels compelled to be with as her love for him is too great to pass upon. She is in control, and she is determined to commit herself to this man now in her life.
The photograph was shot in The Brompton Cemetery in London to look like perhaps being in Rome – It was deliberately shot in a monochromatic feel but in colour. The lover is ambiguously dressed – could he be a priest perhaps or perhaps he is a diamond dealer?
Their shadows on the wall are telling of the closeness of their relationship and it's a moment of high tension.
Shot on the Nikon Z6 – with a 24-70 mm F4 zoom lens
